The distillery,
enveloped with the climate and terroir.
A scent that can be felt only here. An unpredictable scent that continually changes. A scent that envelops the terroir. To offer an accommodation experience infused with the aroma and essence of the land's resources, we've established a distillery within the hotel. Each day, we distil the fresh forest materials native to Mount Hakusan, such as Lindera umbellata,, red pine, cedar, hinoki cypress, and Noto hinoki. This isn't a perfectly crafted aroma but rather the scent of this land, imbued with the essence of the earth, water, and vegetation.

Our brand "Petrichor" exists with the cycle of water
"Petrichor" is an amenity brand created for Kourinkyo, located in Kanazawa, a city blessed with the rich forest resources of Mount Hakusan. Petrichor means the earthy scent produced when rain falls on dry soil. It's a fragrance that can only be born in a specific place at a particular time, making it an ultimate work of nature. We aim to capture the beauty of such subtlety and transience in our creations.
Based on selling by weight for local sourcing and consumption
Bath amenities like shampoo and body soap typically consist of almost 70% water. We've created an amenity brand that places particular focus on the quality of the water used. We use the snowmelt water from Mount Hakusan and manufacture these products in Kanazawa, where they are sold and consumed. The profits generated from this venture are reinvested to plant trees on Mount Hakusan. We aim to achieve a locally sourced and consumed amenity, just like a natural water cycle. We minimise unnecessary transportation and handling to reduce environmental impact. We primarily sell by weight, avoiding excessive packaging and advertising, to present an unadulterated amenity brand.

Naturally derived for self-care that's kind to your body and the environment.
The origin of the place name Korinbo comes from a monk who was believed to have run a herbal medicine shop in this area. At that time, the study of medicine was essentially the study of pharmacology. It involved researching, blending, and prescribing plants and herbs from the natural fields. Petrichor is an amenity brand that is sulphate-free and doesn't use any petroleum-based ingredients. Instead of synthetic fragrances and synthetic dyes, it utilises natural essential oils and caramel colouring. These skin-friendly components offer a smooth texture and a rich lather. To fulfil these desires, we worked closely with manufacturers in Kanazawa, conducting numerous trials to carefully develop products. We aim to provide an experience that goes beyond cleansing, offering a bath time enriched with a luxuriously fragrant and textured experience.
